In this Webinar, you'll learn how to:

Use Open-Ended Tasks

in a way that allows your students to openly explore and understand deeper math concepts

Create Open-Ended Tasks

so that you can easily adapt and make use of the closed tasks you already have

Set Up Math Groups

that are differentiated, so that students can help each other explore concepts on similar levels

Use Exit Tickets

with open-ended math tasks so that you have an easy, efficient way to monitor progress

How do open-ended math tasks better teach core math concepts?

While our traditional close-ended tasks are great for assessing for understanding, they don't do much to help build understanding of core mathematical concepts. Instead, they encourage rote memorization.

Unlike close-ended tasks, open-ended tasks leave out one of the known variables in a math problem.

This allows students to dynamically change the variables in the problem, which naturally gets them thinking about the relationships between the numbers, rather than just aiming for the right answer.

Not only that, it naturally allows students to choose numbers that are at their level, making open-ended tasks automatically differentiated.

Successfully implementing open-ended math tasks in a classroom can be stressful and overwhelming. This training is designed to make that process easy for teachers so they can realize the endless benefits of open-ended math tasks in their classrooms.

A Personal Invitation From Cassie...

"Professional development and curriculum resources should be molding to the way we teach, not the other way around."

As a teacher, I know how frustrating it is when we're asked to take valuable time away from our work just to attend a professional development training that's too abstract to implement, or half-baked by someone who's clearly never set foot inside a classroom.

I believe that teaching resources and trainings should meet teachers where they are, not the other way around. That's why I love bringing proven strategies and resources that teachers can seamlessly use in their classrooms.

My team and I work hard to bring teachers trainings that are designed and packaged to give teachers a clear roadmap to meeting their goals in the classroom.

So, for any teachers who are looking to build on their students' understanding of core math concepts and want to give open-ended math tasks a try, I'd like to invite you to register below. I promise that you'll come away with clear, actionable ideas that will leave you feeling motivated and inspired to improve your classroom.
